Connections and Splices

How we join it together.

Every connection type fabricated in-house. Assembled and checked in our yard before it leaves.

Two-Plate Splice

Standard beam splice. Two flange plates, web plate. Bolted and checked in yard before delivery.

Four-Plate Splice

Heavy-duty connection. Four plates to all flanges and web. Used on larger spans and higher load requirements.

Base Plates

Column base plates welded and drilled. Sized to engineer's specification. Levelling nuts and holding-down bolts supplied on request.

End Plates and Cleats

Bolted end plate connections and angle cleat connections. Welded in our yard, bolted on site.

Cranked Beams

Beams with offsets and cranks templated by our survey team on site. We take the template, we fabricate the shape.

Goalposts and Frames

Goalpost frames, picture frames and box frames. Assembled and bolted in yard before delivery.

Flitch and Spreader Plates

Flitch plates sandwiched between timber joists. Spreader plates for load distribution. Cut and drilled to any dimension.

Shelf Angles

Hot-rolled and fabricated shelf angles for masonry support and structural ledger connections.

Do you work from engineer drawings or do your own?

Both. We can work from your structural engineer's drawings and fabricate exactly to spec. If you do not have drawings, we offer a drawing and connection calculation service. We survey, we design, we fabricate. Ask when you call.

What is your delivery radius?

We cover Surrey, Hertfordshire and West London as our core areas. We can also cover North London, Essex borders and Bedfordshire. Ring if you are outside the main areas and we will tell you straight.

What if the steel does not fit on site?

If we did the site survey and the dimensions are wrong, we fix it at no cost. No argument. That is the point of the free site survey. We take the measurement, we take the responsibility. We also assemble every piece in our yard before it leaves to catch any errors before they reach you.

How quickly can you erect scaffolding?

Within 24 hours of your call for most residential jobs. Same-day is possible for urgent jobs. Ring and we will tell you what is possible. Strike is within 48 hours of your instruction.

Can I send drawings or dimensions by WhatsApp?

Yes. WhatsApp 07448 745 773 with your drawings, photos or dimensions and we will come back with a price fast. For complex steel jobs this is often the fastest way to get a quote.

Do you supply fireproof paint?

Yes. Intumescent fireproof paint applied before delivery where the structural engineer's spec requires it. All the correct grades. Ask and we will confirm what is needed for your job.

What is a 140-foot crane delivery?

Our HIAB crane lorry lifts steel directly into position, to scaffold level, roof line or into tight-access positions. This saves your team from manually hauling beams up and speeds up installation significantly. Available from £600.
